Ryan and I spent Christmas with both our parents and became an Uncle and Aunt when our first nephew and niece were born on December 28th. The twins are so perfect and healthy! Ah! They just make me smile from ear to ear! I am so excited to spoil Kennedy rotten with bows, manicures, and lace and I can’t wait to dress Weston in an oxford with a bow tie. After holding these two beauties, Ryan is even more ready to start our own family! He’s going to be such a great dad one day.
I want to share something. with you that makes my heart happy. Pancakes. And not just any pancakes. I have been blessed to marry into a family with stellar pancake making skills. My father-in-law has a pancake recipe passed down over several generations that is better than any pancake you have ever experienced. No one ever believes me. But then he comes to visit and makes several large batches for all my friends and turns everyone into believers. These pancakes are so delicious that they do not require syrup or butter or anything to sweeten them. They are by far my favorite breakfast treat. I can’t wait for Ryan to learn his papa’s tricks for our kids one day. Until then you should come over some time for pancakes when my in-laws are around.
The website, Pinterest, has recently taken my social media world by storm. It has almost completely eliminated Facebook from my mind. I hardly spend any time on FB anymore (but if you do, friend me here haha) But I do spend (probably too) much of my time on Pinterest (follow my boards here). I was actively looking for a similiar product to keep stuff I stumbled onto on the web when I found Pinterest. And now I’m just a little bit obsessed. I have found such great recipes to try, crafts to make as gifts and for my home, brilliant repurposing projects, etc. I can’t say enough about how much I love it.
To celebrate my new found love of Pinterest, and to not allow myself to feel inferior to the profound people who post there, I have decided to create a series on this blog dedicated to all the projects, recipes, fashions, etc. that I try after “pinning” them. I’m really excited about this and I already have a few projects that I can’t wait to share with you. I won’t dedicate this blog soley to Pinterest though, I hope to sprinkle these posts around others as well.
At first I had planned not to decorate for Christmas due to the serious mess of boxes already around my home and the fact that we are headed to visit family on Christmas morning. A quick conversation with my mother and she changed my mind. She suggested that as a compromise I at least put up a tree. No other decor. She was so right! I put it up yesterday and it has been making me smile all day! It’s not much but it sure brings in the holiday cheer! Please pardon my less than ideal photo quality here. I know very little about photography but my sister Brandy at Brandy and Beau Photography does, so check her out.
